Sole Custody Can Destroy lives... - 2007/08/24 10:46 Senator Greg Bell (R) has asked for more research and studies on 50/50 equal parenting. Dr. Warren Farrel has an excellent video "The Best Interests of The Child". This should be shown in a public viewing for all concerned Utahn's to view including legislators, judges, attorneys, social services and parents.

See Senator Bell describe the child support system as a multi-million dollar industry that the state depends on. In short, sole-custody provides the child support that ORS uses to get federal bonus funds. If the amount of child support 'collected' is reduced either through non-payment, or through more parents opting for shared and equal parenting, or through less divorce, then the state stands to lose millions (that is six zeros) in funding.

Additional stories on how toxic the current system is can be found at the below website. This man went through an unbelievable story where he was sought only as a paycheck while his child was alienated away. Although he tried to have his relationship supported by the system, it only worked for the mother to the point where the daughter was so alienated the 'best interest of the child' was for the father to relinquish his parental rights.

Also see this YouTUBE video link to a video where a former worker for a state office of child support enforcement testifies as to the ulterior motives these offices have and employ.
