Judge Page Under Fire in Davis County - 2008/01/28 21:33 Bountiful resident, Doug Butts, has spent untold hours compiling a convincing report that details what he says are the inconsistent rulings of Judge Rodney Page in the Second District. Specifically, Butts alleges that Judge Page fails to consistently and correctly apply Utah Statute 78-45-7.15(3) when determining shared medical costs for children of divorce or custody orders. In his video posted on YouTUBE and below, Butts shows four cases where Judge Page orders different percentiles to parties which, according to Butts, is contrary to Utah Statute that states parties 'shall' share the costs of medical expenses 'equally'. Butts plans on delivering a 6 inch report including graphs, case history and support analysis to the Judicial Review Committee for further consideration.

Butts also took out an advertisement in 'The Clipper' in 2006. The text of the ad follows:

Vote No!
Judge Rodney S. Page

Our message is a simple one.......
Judge Rodney S. Page Creates his own laws from the bench.

Does he apply the law as stated in statute?
We have found that most times, he has. But in certain cases, he has not
applied the law.

Can we vote Judges off the bench? Yes?
Judges are like politicians, sometimes it’s a good idea to send a mes-
sage, hold them accountable and vote them out.
We actually have some very good judges on the bench. However,
every now and then as in the past with Judge Young who was voted
off the bench. We now have another judge abusing its citizens.
If a judge is so bold as to knowingly not apply the law as he knows it,
we should question his rulings in other areas. This is very serious; this
type of behavior is flagrant and severely hurts our families in the com-
munity. This is not excusable neglect from a hard decision a judge
had to make. Judge Rodney Page knew what he was doing and
has abused it with cases under his direction. Yes, citizens could
appeal, however we the citizens have the right not to have to
appeal a flagrant ruling costing thousands of dollars. We have also
found other questionable rulings by Judge Rodney Page....... Please
vote NO this election.......... Please let your neighbors, family and
friends know to vote against Judge Rodney Page.

Paid for by the Citizens for an Honest Judicial System,
DOUG BUTTS, Chairman. Questions or comments
